The DG girls and I had a conversation last night about food – specifically if you could only eat three foods for the rest of your life what would they be. I immediately shouted out cheese, chocolate and bread. I’ve thought about this many, many times.
Pretty much everyone else said cheese as well (funny that we were at a vegan restaurant), but some of the girls were much more practical when choosing their foods. For example, Allison said she would probably pick cheese, beans and rice so she could get enough protein. I’m thinking to myself, who cares about protein and survival?!
So in the spirit of my three favorite food groups listed above, I hit Greenspan’s Grilled Cheese for lunch and John Kelly Chocolates for dessert today. Yep, I could live off this stuff. Best food groups ever!
After a beautiful walk around the neighborhood with the twins, Jenny J and I hit a book signing. Her friend Nora Zelevansky just released her second novel Will You Won’t You Want Me. I’m actually friends with Nora’s cousins (Dave is a fellow Bobcat), so I had met her a few years back. It’s a small world…even in LA!
After the book signing we had cocktails and snacks at Estrella Sunset. The restaurant was beautiful and I really enjoyed my basil cocktail yummyness, but we were a little shocked when we got the bill and we were charged $16 for a side of corn bread. It was awesome, but it’s corn bread people! Thankfully the bill was adjusted and we will refrain from writing a Yelp review.
