Day 14: Jenna

I absolutely love the fact that I work from home. There are so many benefits, including being able to work from LA!

The only downside to working from home is not being able to see your awesome co-workers every day. You know, the type of comrade who lets you vent (3 minutes!), gives you advice (it would be better if….), finishes your sentences (twins!), makes you laugh (saweee!) and brightens every day. For me this person is Jenna. Luckily she only lives 2 hours from LA, so I got to hang out with her AND her husband David today!

Our schedule was ultimately planned around where we wanted to eat. As soon as they got here we hit Open Space for some breakfast and catching up. David and I had never met, so I was so excited to spend time with him. After our caffeine fix Jenna and I caught up on work while David hit some local record stores.

For lunch Jenna took me to Mohawk Bend, which is one of her favorite spots. Her and David come to LA quite a bit, so she knew all of the great places to hit. We enjoyed their buffalo cauliflower, avo & chips and banh mi pizza. Oh and the convertible ride there and back was super fun too.

After crossing some items off the NASTT to-do list, the three of us hit Mud Hen Tavern for dinner. I definitely felt the Ohio vibe after learning the establishment was named after the Toledo Mud Hens and our server was a Cincy native.

A day with NASTT staff isn’t complete without some ice cream, so we made a quick pit stop in Scoops before Jenna and David headed back to Bakersfield.

One of the first things I did when I got to LA was to find a fun coffee shop for Jenna and I to hang out in when she came to visit :)
