“Be kind to one another” – Ellen DeGeneres
What a great motto! This is one of the many reasons why I love Ellen and her show. She puts such great energy out into the universe, and she displays incredible generosity.
Jenny J’s friend Frances hooked myself and their other friend Elana up with tickets to the show. It was such a blast! She gave us a quick tour of the backstage area (unfortunately no photos allowed, for the most part!) before we took our VIP seats. Today’s show included Jared Leto (so glad he cut his hair), Drake and a musical performance from Sia. She also had an Army officer come home and surprise his daughter and wife during the taping. So sweet. I think my favorite part was Jared, Drake and Ellen playing Never Have I Ever. Hilarious. Oh and we got tickets to see Sia perform at the Hollywood Bowl on October 8, so I guess I need to come back to LA in the fall!
After the show I stopped by Jenny J and Joe’s place for a quick farewell (they are ironically visiting Cleveland this week), and then I headed up to Griffith Observatory for the Sunset Walk & Talk event. Parking was insane! Not sure if it’s always like that, but I lucked out and scored a spot just in time to meet up with the tour. It’s a great place to see the sun set behind the Hollywood Hills, and I even got a chance to see Jupiter in the telescope!
